THE ENNIS HOUSE Frank Lloyd Wright

Once in a generation a residential property of historical and architectural significance is offered for sale. Now, after years of thoughtful restoration at a cost of nearly seventeen million dollars, The Ennis House, which occupies a majestic Los Angeles hilltop with staggering views from downtown to the shimmering Pacific Ocean, takes its place again as one of the world’s most iconic and alluring homes. 3 bedrooms, 3-½ baths, screening/billiard room, self-contained 1 bedroom guest house, and pool. It is both a powerful architectural statement, yet remarkably livable. There are only a handful of residential properties in the world as awe-inspiring as The Ennis House.

$23,000,000. Available Furnished.

Showings are by appointment only to pre-qualified buyers.

The house features approximately 27,000 blocks, each hand-cast using custom molds. Made from a mixture of gravel, granite, and sand from the site, it took each block 10 days to dry and cure before they were able to be used.

The copper frieze over the dining room fireplace features an ancient fire god, and is signed by Julius Dietzmann. The last surviving glass mosaic fireplace by Frank Lloyd Wright is found in the living room area.

One of the earliest uses of mitered corner windows by Wright, The Ennis House has spectacular views from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean. The house's custom art-glass windows are among the last of Wright's leaded glass designs.

Perfect for entertaining, the north terrace features a swimming pool designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in a 1940 remodel. A tranquil lily pond gently hugs a corner of the home, and is visible from the main house's two bedrooms.

The Ennis House in Film and Television

“The final result is going to stand on

that hill a hundred years or more.

Long after we are all gone it will be pointed out as
